When it comes to speed leveling in Diablo 4, the numbers speak volumes. The key lies in tackling higher tier difficulties, which offer substantial experience points (EXP) gains across the board. The captivating story of Diablo 4 is the second factor in achieving speed leveling to 100. As you progress through the storyline you will unlock new acts with fresh new activities, zones, monsters and bosses to slay. This means you cant move forward if you don’t follow the storyline!
Completing each chapter of the story grants you substantial EXP bonuses, where even the smallest quests will contribute to filling your character’s experience bar.
How to approach the Story as a Pro!
Based on our experience you should have the story completed at level 50 and unlock the mount for maximum speed! This can be achieved only if we focusing on rushing through the story, this means:
- Skip the dialogues and resist the urge to explore every nook and cranny of the visually stunning Sanctuary.
- Don’t be the wanderer, as the story in Diablo 4 is straightforward and guides you along a clear path.
- Stay focused and pass by the scattered minions you encounter along the way.
By embracing this approach on the story, you’ll optimize your leveling efficiency and reach the end-game in no time. And remember, there will always be a time for you to reset, and re-run the story for all the cinematics and dialogues that comes with it.

The Importance of Multiplayer & Party Play
Diablo 4 is an open-world massively multiplayer online (MMO) game that continually rewards players who choose to team up or adventure within the vicinity of others. And here’s the best part: you don’t necessarily have to be in a party of four to enjoy multiplayer bonuses, although the bonuses are undoubtedly more substantial when you team up with your friends.
- For any random player on your screen you gain x5% EXP Bonus.
– While the exact range is yet to be confirmed, it is certain that as long as there are players visible on your screen or within close proximity, you will be rewarded with the multiplayer bonuses. - For every Party player in your team you gain x10% EXP Bonus.
– In Party play, experience is distributed to all party members across the entire zone.
Party rework & Smart Loot System:
Speed carry boost to max level, as seen in Diablo 3, is not possible in Diablo 4. Experience gains are tied to your character’s current level, this means having a level 100 party leader will not skyrocket the EXP bar of your level 10 character.
Similarly, the loot system operates on a personal basis, thanks to the new smart loot system. This eliminates any competition or conflicts over drops. Rest assured, everything you spot on the ground is yours for take!
Party Mechanics:
- In a party, the maximum number of members is limited to 4.
- A party consists of a party leader who has the authority to add or remove other players. Players have the option to leave the party whenever they want.
- The progression of your Open World state and quests is determent by the party leader current progress.
- A separate in-game party chat.
- Most skills that provide buffs have a impact on both party members and nearby non-allied players in the Open World.

When it comes to speed runs, there’s the first golden rule: never stop until you’ve gathered a horde of monsters, with at least one elite boss! Our primary focus lies in dungeon runs, where you can efficiently amass a multitude of mobs alongside a few bosses that can be swiftly cleared within seconds. Following rule number two: we don’t waste time on every single monster in this encounter. Focus on taking down the bosses, and the surrounding minions will fall accordingly. If there are any stragglers, it’s best to leave them be.
Rule number three for the open world roamers: portal from one waypoint to another, hop on your mount, and ride straight to your destination. The only time we stop is when we come across an exclusive event, helltide zone or a single boss that’s worth fighting for, otherwise, you keep on moving.
While it is necessary to understand your class and tailor your playstyle to your chosen build, the build itself holds the key to determining your approach. By mastering both your skills and your chosen build, you can unlock the full potential of your class and achieve the required speed on your path to level 100.
LOOT LIKE A PRO
In Diablo 4 time is a critical factor for every speed runner, and we definitely don’t want to double up our leveling hours by looting everything and clearing our stash every 10 minutes.
Learn the items and their names, always knowing what’s missing from your gear. Yes picking up every unique and sacred item is crucial for crafting materials and upgrading your gear, but they only take up a small portion of your inventory. However, the key is in looting only the important Rare items, that truly define you as a professional speed runner.
By adopting this professional approach, you’ll most definitely speed your progress and accumulate tons of EXP by the end of each day. So, be selective, prioritize the essential rare items, and loot like a true pro. Time is precious, and this method will ensure you make the most of it!
Know your items and their differences
In Diablo 4, items are categorized into five different rarities, each with its own significance. Understanding when to focus on collecting these items is crucial for efficient speed leveling.

Not much needs to be said here, just one finger on the skills, and we right-click our way to victory. The simple yet efficient Barbarian Whirlwind build is the fastest one for speed leveling. It’s worth noting that the Barbarian can easily become a heavy hitter, but our current focus is on speed.

The Necromancer is renowned for their exceptional single-target damage, making them a formidable force with skeleton army as hes isolated from danger. However, speed is not their strong suit with this approach to character building. After testing various builds, we have concluded that the Corpse Explosion with Mist build ranks among the top five speed builds in Diablo 4.

DUNGEONS & STRONGHOLDS FOR ULTIMATE SPEED
In the world of Diablo 4, Dungeons hold the key to ultimate endgame challenges, particularly the Nightmare Dungeons that await us on nightmare difficulty. However, during the speed leveling phase, our focus shifts towards the normal dungeons, specifically the ones that matter most to your progression.
In each act, you’ll find approximately 20 dungeons, with 3-5 dungeons tailored for each class and a few with universal aspects suitable for all classes. Here’s what you need to do:
- Clear the dungeons that align with your speed leveling build’s required aspects, but only once!
- Keep a keen eye out for specially designed dungeons that offer optimal conditions for repetitive farming. During the beta testing phase, such dungeon was recognized by the community that provided double the amount of experience and could be cleared within minutes.
Upon release, we’ll provide an updated list of all such dungeons in each act, ensuring you have the latest information for efficient speed leveling.
Strongholds offer another fruitful avenue for experience farming. Most strongholds boast higher levels within their respective regions, making them prime candidates for repeatable farming. Instead, farm the stronghold until it’s nearly complete, but never push through to challenge the stronghold bosses!
Key Note #1: In the earily stage of the game, avoid fully completing the strongholds! As fully completing the stronghold transforms it into a rescued village that can no longer be farmed.
Key Note #2: Make sure to complete them in party, and switch over the role of party leader, this way you can complete each Stronghold x4 Times with 40% EXP bonus on completion!
With the release, we’ll update this section to provide a comprehensive list of Strongholds in each Act.

DIABLO 4 HIGH-LEVEL ZONES FARM
When you find yourself stuck on your progress with no active events or world bosses to challenge, high-level zones become your key to move forward. By repeatedly farming these zones, you can give your character a significant boost in levels and acquire higher-level loot drops, all while earning extra experience points from defeating the high lvl monsters within.
During the Beta’s and the Diablo 4 Server Slam we witnessed players engaging in this repetitive farming strategy, and it proved to be highly rewarding compared to other approaches.

While this tip comes later in our guide, it’s essential to highlight the significance of taking down World Bosses. Each day, you’ll have a 15-minute window to defeat these formidable foes.
World Bosses offer unique rewards that cannot be obtained elsewhere, including valuable loot, substantial experience gains, and generous amounts of gold. Taking down these colossal monsters is a must for any ambitious speed runner.

SPEED LEVELING EXTRA NOTES: Do’s and Don’ts:
D4 Helltide Events
Embrace Helltide Events – As you reach level 50, be on the lookout for Helltide events that appear at random locations every two hours, lasting for one hour each. These events present a golden opportunity for targeted item slot farming. If you find yourself falling behind in acquiring gear for a specific item slot, make it a priority not to miss the Helltide event. Obtaining the desired item will significantly enhance your power and accelerate the leveling process. Remember to stay in the zone until the event is fully completed, collect Cinders, and use them to open the chest corresponding to the specific item slot you’re aiming for.
The Power of Elixirs
While speed leveling, the focus is primarily on progressing swiftly rather than farming plants and herbs. However, you may still come across some during your journey. Take advantage of this and craft a few EXP Elixirs, as they can prove to be invaluable. Save them for key moments, such as when facing world bosses, to maximize your experience gains and expedite your leveling process.
World Events Encounters
Avoid wasting time searching for events on the map. As you traverse from one location to another, you’re likely to encounter orange circles, indicating world events. Take a quick 2-minute break and participate in these events. They offer valuable rewards, including experience, gold, and Murmuring Obols. The Murmuring Obols can be utilized at the Purveyor to gamble for gear items and purchase Whispering Keys to unlock Silent Chests. Prioritize clearing these events when they appear, but don’t spend excessive time searching for them.
Side Quests – The Blue NPC’s
If you’re looking for a change of pace and want to explore the world of Diablo 4 at your own leisure, side quests are a great option. Engaging with the Blue NPCs will not only expand the overall story of the game but also provide additional experience points for your character.
However, from a professional speed leveling perspective, it’s important to note that side quests are not the most efficient use of your time. While they offer valuable storytelling and some experience rewards, they are not prioritized when it comes to maximizing speed leveling progress.
10 Things you should definitely not do for speed leveling!
- Don’t imprint The extracted afixes to items you plan on switching every 5-10 levels!
- Resist the urge to upgrade items that you know you’ll be replacing soon. Focus on acquiring better gear as you progress.
- Refrain from experimenting too much with your skills. Stay committed to your playstyle for maximum efficiency.
- If you come across an ultimate best item that doesn’t align with your build, resist the temptation to switch to a different build.
- Don’t swap gear based solely on a green upgrade from initial stats. Consider the overall affixes and compare them before making a decision.
- Don’t advance to a higher World Tier without suitable gear. Speed leveling should be a breeze, without struggling against regular mobs or spending too much time on elite bosses.
- On the other hand, it’s equally important not to linger on a lower World Tier if you are already overgeared. Advance to higher World Tier where the difficulty matches your capabilities.
- Never miss out on a treasure Goblin! Chase it down and claim all the precious loot it carries.
- Don’t forget the Vendors, keep them in mind and upgrade them as you advance through the game. You might find them useful.
- Don’t forget to stretch your back! A 5-minute break every hour won’t slow down your speed leveling process, keep your body and Hail Lilith, Blessed Mother!
