Outriders Pyromancer Guide – Best Builds, Weapons & Tips

Introduction:

Outriders is the newest cooperative role-playing third-person video game set to be released on April the 1st, 2021 on PC, Playstation 4/5, Xbox and Stadia.

Outriders has four playable classes: Devastator, Pyromancer, Technomancer and Trickster. Each class has eight skills in total (for the time being in the DEMO we are allowed to test out four.) Only three skills can be equipped at a time. Each class has three sub-classes talent trees you can spec out and can be changed at any time.
In this guide we will be focusing mainly on the Pyromancer class.

Skills and Abilities:

The Technomancer is a bit different compared to the other classes that tend to be focused on in the face crowd control type of gameplay or the Trickster that has the skirmisher fast paced type. Tecnomancers’ skills help you stay at range and controlling the battle field. Some skills directly influence your weapons that give you the ability to fight with buff guns instead of rely on your spells.

Healing Mechanic: You will recover a portion of the damage you deal as Health.

First unlockable ability is Heatwave.

“Summon a fiery wave that deals X damage and inflicts Burn onto all enemies in its path.”

Type: IGNITE
Heatwave is on a 13 seconds cooldown.

Very good offensive skill and easy to use especially in a cone/straight line in front of you. It is on 17 seconds cooldown and a very good mechanism to apply DoTs to your enemies.

Second unlockable ability is Feed the Flames.

“Select and pull an enemy towards you dealing X damage draining X health and inflicting Ash.”

Type: IMMOBILIZE
Feed the Flames is on a 17 seconds cooldown.

Feed the Flames pulls the enemy towards you and if you are being swarmed its a useful ability to stun them quick and gain some health back while applying the debuff Ash on them.

Third unlockable ability is Thermal Bomb.

“Select an enemy to Burn Interrupt and deal X damage to. If killed while still afflicted by the skill the enemy will explode dealing X damage within a large radius.”

Type: EXPLOSIVE, INTERRUPT
Thermal Bomb is on a 12 seconds cooldown.

Highly offensive skill, the best one in the kit (have in mind the game is still in the DEMO). Causes you to nuke down enemies if used correctly. The best way to use it is pay attention to enemies that are close to dying or low health and use it specifically on them.

Fourth unlockable skill is Overheat.

“Deal X damage to all enemies within a large radius and Interrupt their skills. Enemies afflicted with Burn receive X damage instead (the Burn will be consumed).”

Type: EXPLOSIVE, INTERRUPT
Overheat is on a 19 seconds cooldown.

A very important skill and somewhat defensive, having in mind your passive ability heals you if you kill enemies with Burn effect on them. Its advised to use this when you can struck more than a few enemies with it as a sort of last resort defensive or offensive ability.

There are also 4 other skills that are not out on the Demo yet and have yet to be tested.

NOT RELEASED ON THE DEMO YET – NEED TO BE TESTED AND UPDATED IN THE FUTURE

Volcanic Rounds: Type: IGNITE. Fill your current weapon’s magazine with Anomaly-infused bullets that will inflict Burn within a small radius and pierce targets, damaging enemies behind them. The skill lasts until you reload or switch weapons.
Ash Blast: Type: IMMOBILIZE. Create an Anomaly blast to inflict Ash on all enemies in a large radius around you.
F.A.S.E.R Beam: Type: IGNITE, INTERRUPT. Fire an energy beam that deals damage that benefits from 125% of Status Power, inflicting Burn and causing Interrupt.
Eruption: Type: EXPLOSIVE. Create a volcanic eruption beneath the selected enemy, dealing damage to them, and all enemies within a small radius around the target.

Class Points and Talent Tree:

The Pyromancer has 3 talent trees that you can use your Class Points in: Ash Breaker, Firestorm, Tempest.
All 3 choices are viable and are strong. Ash Breaker focuses on DoTing your enemies and healing up revolving around said DoTs, the damage they do and the amount you heal.
Firestorm increases skill damage and multiplies it focusing on your skills. Tempest is the tanking talent tree, allows you to get HP increases and reduced damage traits.

We recommend testing them all out for whichever playstyle suits you best, but Firestorm is for sure the most fun one that everybody should try!

Best Pyromancer build and recommended mods:

A highly recommended weapon mod is BURNING BULLETS – “Shots inflict Burn on enemies. Cooldown of 8 seconds.”
With this mod you basically always have the Burn effect on your enemies that causes them to heal you and that is highly important especially when you are playing with the Ash Breaker tree.

Goes great alongside another weapon mod called BLEEDING BULLETS – “Shots inflict Bleed on enemies. Cooldown of 8 seconds.”
This mod will help you greatly once the enemies have their Burn status already afflicted to them with your Overheat ability and the bleeding DoT will only help you kill them faster. It suits the whole DoT gameplay very nicely and is recommended you have a secondary weapon with this mod.

The best armor mod is BIG BOOM – “Thermal Bomb: Increases explosion radius by 20%.”
This is the best armor mod you can have if you are going for the Firestorm build, a must have if you orient your build towards skills.

Another armor mod oriented towards skills is TIDAL WAVE – “Heatwave: The skill can be activatated 1 more time before triggering the cooldown.”
Making it a spammable spell for big amounts of damage combined with the damage aplify from the Firestorm talent tree path.
