Phantom Blade Zero in 30 Seconds
Phantom Blade Zero is a fast, fluid wuxia action RPG from Chinese studio S-GAME, built in Unreal Engine 5, launching October 29, 2026 on PS5 and PC (Steam & Epic). The PS5 version carries a 12-month console exclusivity window. It’s styled as “Kungfupunk” – Chinese martial arts fused with steampunk machinery, cyberpunk edge and body modification.
You play as Soul, an elite blade framed for his leader’s murder and struck through the heart by his own blood brother – then revived by the mysterious Flesh Sculptor with just 66 days to live. Combat spans 30+ primary weapons and 25 secondary “Phantom Edges,” across four difficulty modes – including the brutal 66 Days permadeath mode. Martial-arts icon Donnie Yen serves as creative consultant and performs the character Mó Yuan.

The Story: Soul and the 66-Day Countdown
Betrayal, a stolen heartbeat, and 66 days to set it right
The Setup
Framed, Betrayed, Left for Dead
Soul was once the oldest and most feared blade of the Wulin’s ruling faction. Framed for his leader’s murder and betrayed by his own allies, he’s run through the heart in a final duel against his childhood blood brother, Zuo Shang. Everything he was is stripped away in a single stroke.
The Clock
Revived With 66 Days to Live
A mysterious healer known as the Flesh Sculptor drags Soul back from death – but the fix is temporary: he has exactly 66 days before his body gives out. To survive, he must find a cure buried somewhere in the corruption of the Wulin while hunting the truth behind the conspiracy that destroyed him. Your choices and side quests shape which of the game’s endings you reach.
The world is Kungfupunk: eight connected regions rendered as hand-painted Chinese ink maps, blending martial arts, steampunk machinery and body modification. It’s semi-open – not fully open-world, not strictly linear – with hidden enemies, optional quests and secrets, bell fast-travel between discovered sites, and one region crossed by high-speed vessel across a vast lake.
Combat SPOTLIGHT
55 Weapons And The Kungfupunk Combat System
This is the heart of the game: fast, fluid, agressive action with quick weapon swaps, blocking, parries and counters – closer to a character-action or fighting game than a slow Soulslike. You’ll unlock 30+ primary weapons and 25 secondary ‘Phantom Edges” (ranged, melee and AoE), and you’ll need to switch between them to counter different enemy styles – even bare-knuckle Iron Fists stay essential for cracking heavily shielded foes. Weapons level up to gain new forms and techniques, and every upgrade material can be fully refunded and reassigned, so you can freely experiment. Skill trees are resettable any time, letting you rebuild for every situation – or every run.
The Four Difficulty Modes
Four ways to play – from cinematic power fantasy to permadeath nightmare

Story / Easiest
Wayfarer
Intuitive and cinematic – built to let any player feel like a martial-arts master and enjoy the story and set-piece action without pressure.
Standard
Pathbreaker
The intended, balanced experience – sitting between Wayfarer’s accessibility and Hellwalker’s punishment. The default way to meet the game on its own terms.
Hardest Combat
Hellwalker
Built around fighting-game mechanics. Bosses drop fixed attack patterns entirely – they react to your spacing, punish whiffed attacks, and adapt to habits they’ve seen in real time. The true skill test.
Permadeath
66 Days
Turns Soul’s in-fiction countdown into a real gameplay timeline: you get 66 lives to finish the whole game. Every defeat costs a day, with Hellwalker-level combat – and running out means permanent death. Not for the faint of heart.
Platforms, Editions & Pre-Order Bonuses
Where it runs, what you get, and what pre-ordering unlocks
Platforms
PS5 & PC (Steam + Epic)
Launches on PS5 and Windows PC via Steam and Epic on the same day. PS5 carries a 12-month console exclusivity clause (blocking Xbox/Switch until at least Oct 2027) and uses DualSense adaptive triggers and haptics. Minimum PC specs call for a GTX 1660 / RX 5500 XT, 16 GB RAM and an SSD.
Editions
Standard & Digital Deluxe
Two digital editions. Digital Deluxe costs about $10 more than Standard and adds two exclusive appearances plus digital extras. A physical disc release has also been confirmed by a major retailer, so collectors aren’t left out.
Pre-Order Bonuses
Treasure Basin & Legacy Outfit
Both editions include two early-unlock rewards: the Treasure Basin accessory, which boosts Remnant Dust drop rates by 10%, and the Legacy outfit. Note that per the Steam listing, both can also be earned through normal in-game progression – so pre-ordering gets them early, not exclusively.

Phantom Blade Zero Quick Answers
The questions everyone is asking before launch
Is Phantom Blade Zero coming to Xbox or Switch?
Not at launch. The confirmed platforms are PS5 and PC (Steam & Epic). The PS5 version carries a 12-month console exclusivity clause, which blocks Xbox and Switch versions until at least October 2027.
Is Phantom Blade Zero a Soulslike?
S-GAME actively pushes back on the label. It’s a fast, aggressive character-action game with fighting-game influences – quick weapon swaps, parries and counters – closer to Sekiro or Ninja Gaiden in tempo than a slow, methodical Soulslike, with four difficulty modes so you set the challenge.
What is 66 Days mode?
The hardest way to play. It turns Soul’s story countdown into a mechanic: you have 66 lives to finish the entire game, each defeat costs a day, combat runs at Hellwalker intensity, and running out means permanent death. Built for players who want the ultimate test.
