Star Wars Galactic Racer brings podracing back with six familiar pilots from The Phantom Menace: Sebulba, Ben Quadinaros, Gasgano, Dud Bolt, Ody Mandrell and Teemto Pagalies. Each racer has a distinctive pod, preferred racing style and character-specific traits that can change how they generate speed, survive crashes or attack their opponents.

Galactic Racer Podracer Tier List
Our early ranking compares the six confirmed playable podracers using their revealed abilities, expected track performance and overall competitive potential. Hover over or select a racer to see what makes them different.
| Tier | Podracers | Why they rank here |
|---|---|---|
| S+ Tier | Best overall podracer. Sebulba combines competitive speed with powerful combat tools that allow him to control crowded races and punish vulnerable opponents. | |
| S Tier | Highest pure-speed potential. Ben can dominate long straights and overtake-heavy circuits, but extracting that speed demands control and excellent timing. | |
| A Tier | Powerful specialist choices. Gasgano rewards clean, defensive racing, while Dud Bolt converts jumps and Perfect Landings into stronger boost chains. | |
| B Tier | Promising but less certain. Ody and Teemto may become valuable specialist options, but their complete kits need further testing before their final placements can be confirmed. |
S+ Tier
Sebulba, the Best Combat Podracer

Learning curve
Easy to threaten with; harder to use aggressively without losing momentum.
Sebulba is the strongest choice for players who want to influence the entire race rather than simply chase the fastest lap. His speed and physical presence make him dangerous both at the front and while fighting through traffic.
He becomes particularly threatening near route splits and environmental hazards, where one well-timed hit can force a rival away from the fastest path.
S Tier
Ben Quadinaros, The Best Pure-Speed Podracer

Learning curve
Ben’s objective is simple – go faster than everyone else, but controlling his size and speed without crashing requires experience.
Ben Quadinaros is built for players who want overwhelming speed and are prepared to work around demanding handling. His four-engine podracer should be one of the fastest machines in the roster once it has enough space to reach its full potential.
Its size and momentum also make Ben dangerous in physical contests. However, the wide engine configuration requires early positioning, controlled corner entry and a clear plan for the next section of track.
A TIER
Gasgano, the Best Defensive Podracer

Learning curve
Mastering Gasgano requires the discipline to avoid unnecessary collisions and preserve his advantages for as long as possible.
Gasgano is the defensive specialist of the confirmed podracer lineup. He begins with a shield and receives additional speed while he remains crash-free, rewarding players who can maintain a clean racing line without becoming trapped in the pack.
His protection makes him more forgiving than the faster or more aggressive alternatives, but it should not be treated as permission to race carelessly. Once Gasgano crashes and loses his shield, he also gives up the speed advantage tied to keeping it intact. The resulting Surging effect provides a temporary opportunity to recover, but it cannot completely replace the value of a clean opening lap.
A TIER
Dud Bolt, the Best Airtime Podracer

Learning curve
Dud Bolt’s basic strategy is easy to understand, but consistently landing his jumps perfectly and immediately converting the reward into useful speed requires accurate positioning and good knowledge of each track.
Dud Bolt is the airtime specialist of the confirmed podracer lineup. Performing a Perfect Landing completely refills his Afterburner and increases the power of its next activation, creating a natural sequence of jumping, landing and accelerating.
Longer jumps provide stronger bonuses, giving Dud exceptional momentum on circuits with large ramps, drops and alternate aerial routes. His performance is more dependent on the track than that of some other racers, however. Without regular opportunities to leave the ground, he cannot trigger his defining advantage as consistently.
B TIER
Ody Mandrell, The Best All-Round Podracer

Learning curve
Ody should be one of the easiest racers to understand, making him an excellent starting choice before moving to a more demanding specialist.
Ody Mandrell is the practical choice for players who want balanced performance without committing to an extreme playstyle. His podracer should provide enough speed, handling and stability to remain competitive across different track layouts.
That versatility makes Ody especially useful on unfamiliar circuits. He may not match the specialists in their strongest areas, but he gives players the freedom to explore routes, learn hazards and change their approach during the race.
B TIER
Teemto Pagalies, The Best Opportunistic Podracer

Learning curve
Teemto is not mechanically overwhelming, but consistently recognizing the safest route and the correct moment to attack requires strong race awareness.
Teemto Pagalies is the situational choice for players who prefer reading the race and reacting to problems as they develop. Instead of forcing his way through traffic, Teemto should perform best when avoiding collisions, changing routes and capitalizing on mistakes made by more aggressive opponents.
This approach can be surprisingly effective in chaotic multiplayer races. However, Teemto may struggle when the leaders drive cleanly and leave few opportunities for him to exploit.

Podracers Versus the Other Galactic Racer Vehicle Classes
Galactic Racer contains four vehicle classes, but they are not simply faster or slower versions of one another. Each class follows a different real-world racing analogy and searches for a different line through the track.
The Stable Starting Point
Landspeeders

Landspeeders behave most like cars or rally vehicles. They are durable, stable and designed to preserve speed by drifting through corners. Their weight also allows them to survive collisions that might destroy a lighter vehicle.
They should be the easiest class to learn and the most forgiving during campaign runs. Their limitation is raw velocity: landspeeders rely on well-timed Ramjet boosts rather than naturally matching the highest speeds of bikes or pods.
Fast but Fragile
Speeder Bikes

Speeder bikes resemble motorcycles. They are narrow, agile and capable of excellent straight-line speed, but they offer very little protection during contact.
Their Kinetic Burst ability allows stored energy to be released as acceleration when exiting a corner. This should reward players who slow down deliberately, create a clean line and then recover their speed immediately.
Momentum and Precise Banking
Skim Speeders

Skim speeders behave more like low-flying aircraft. They bank through corners and use the Knife Edge maneuver to rotate onto their side and fit through tighter spaces.
They combine resilience with agility, but their slower acceleration makes lost momentum particularly expensive. They should reward players who can read a complete sequence of corners rather than reacting to each turn separately.
Maximum Speed With Almost No Margin for Error
Podracers

Podracers are Galactic Racer’s Formula 1 equivalent: extremely fast, specialized and fragile. Their ramjets create tremendous speed, while airbrakes help them enter tight corners at the cost of momentum.
Almost any significant impact can destroy a pod. That makes the best podracer different for each kind of player. Ben rewards speed management, Sebulba rewards aggression, Gasgano protects clean driving and Dud Bolt converts jumps into stronger boosts.
The developers’ official vehicle overview describes the trade-off clearly: podracers reach extraordinary speeds, but their pilots need extremely fast reactions simply to remain on the track.
IN Short
What Is the Best Racer in Star Wars: Galactic Racer?
Based on the information available before launch, landspeeders appear to be the best overall class for most players. They combine predictable handling, strong durability and the ability to maintain speed through controlled drifts. That makes them easier to learn and less punishing when a campaign run includes an unfamiliar circuit.
Podracers offer the highest potential speed, but they also leave almost no margin for error. Speeder bikes reward precise corner entry and explosive acceleration, while skim speeders depend on maintaining momentum through complete sequences of banked turns. Both can outperform a landspeeder under the right conditions, but they demand more confidence and track knowledge.
For a first campaign run, the safest recommendation is to begin with a landspeeder and learn how Galactic Racer handles drifting, collisions, branching routes and Ramjet timing. Once those fundamentals feel natural, move into the specialist class that matches your preferred racing style.
